The moon was always there.
It is a false observation to believe your eye's or your senses.
The other observables/observers are keeping the moon within reality.
Think about the gravity induced by the moon,reflecting in the tides here on
earth,
The moon is the parent of this tidal effect , and by this tidal precence,the
moon stays in the range of observable reality,indirect , but not lesser.

Takes away the mysticism, keeping the reality,pragmatism,radikal empiricism
