[MD] The Academy is Evil! Here's what I'd do instead...

Mark and Arlo, This was also something that occurred to me, but with the
exact opposite take as Mark:

John: The kinda weird idea I had, is that actually more aged people should
be encouraged to pursue doctorates. Like, it's a life-long process that you
finally achieve enough wisdom in your 60's or 70's, and this gets recognised
at last. What can some 20-something know, anyway?

But then I remembered the main reason for a Phd is that your salary goes way
up, and people need that when they're young, not when they're old. So
really, the society is the problem more than the academy.

But on the other hand, as I alluded to earlier, if society is gonna change,
it's gonna have to be through education. So we're in a pickle.

Who was it that posted that thing about the impossibility of change? Oh,
right. Arlo.

Arlo the wise, as I shall call him. Dr. of sanity, when he gets old enough.

John the fool.
