Thx , Arlo , for this clarification.
"But Dynamic Quality is not structured and yet it is not chaotic. It is
value
that cannot be contained by static patterns." (LILA)
What "home" does DQ have in Pirsig's metaphysics? "[S]tatic and Dynamic
Quality
[are] the fundamental division of the world." (LILA)
Or more descriptive, "The Metaphysics of Quality says there are not just two
codes of morals, there are actually five: inorganic-chaotic,
biological-inorganic, social-biological, intellectual-social, and
Dynamic-static." (LILA)end
-----------------------
This last paragraph is what i mean with transparant boundary's in the levels
Without this transparancy, chemical, biological, social, etc,..some of the
levels would be alienated, not to say all of them.
"Patterns of value" , the same transaprancy's are needed and present.
If not, the chain brakes. End of story.
and of course , yes , fundamental division of the world--inorganic
organic
biological
intellectual
only if quality and dynamic and static quality is behind all levels, they can
reach
to evolution.
Thanks for your work Arlo.
grtz, Adrie
