Not to be contrary..ok ya got me.. to be contrary,
one might argue that the theory of evolution is nothing
but the study of war, we exist as a direct ongoing war..
infinite conflicts..history is then the record of evolutionary wars
which is what I believe Pirsig was attempting to explain from his viewpoint.
The martial artist would argue that harmony lies in the practice of the art.
Peace then is a very artistic sophisticated expression of a type of war making.

I realized the other day that we've been doing it all wrong. The truth is,
he who is incapable of forgetting history is the one doomed to repeat it.
Take war for instance. The main justification for war is that we've always
had wars. If we could just forget we've had war, war would cease to exist.
Focusing upon past patterns only means you are choosing to keep them going.
