[Platt]
Interesting that you choose a scientist as a moral authority.

[Arlo]
Correction. YOU chose Dyson as your authority, I simply put his
actual ideas into their complete context. Rather than use out of
context misinformation to prop-up ideology, I brought his actual
ideas into the dialogue.

[Platt]
Whatever can be said about a "religion" of conservatism can apply
equally to progressivism, socialism, communism, Marxism and other
favorites of the academic elite.

[Arlo]
If its "all religion", then the term is a meaningless adjective, and
can just be dropped entirely. But I think this sort of muddled
thinking just belies your inability to really understand the
social-intellectual distinction, but that's part and parcel for
someone wrapped up in political anti-intellectual demogoguery.

[Platt]
But you appeal to truth. That's funny. You claim there is no truth,
eluding with sophistry the obvious self-contradiction in that statement...

[Arlo]
I don't "elude" anything, I am simply capable of understanding that
meaningfully powerful symbolic systems used to represent experience
contain this limitation, and that paradoxes via recursion and
self-reference are inherent in these systems. As for what I claim
about "truth", I simply agree with Pirsig, "all this is just an
analogy", an insight you continue to struggle to understand.

[Platt]
Since you deny the existence of truth, there's no point in discussing
this or any other subject with you further.

[Arlo]
Excellent use of distortion and evasion. Kudos! I feel sorry for you
sometimes, Platt.
