Well I already have "clicked" with Ian - who seems to be new and John, who
if not new, at least has a new personality.  Does that count?

Well I have enough time on my hands at present to be able to read it all...
so far anyway.

I loved Lila!  Maybe it has something to do with being a female.  Zen and
the Art was great, but the whole book just seemed so male-oriented and
exclusive of the female.  But Lila starts with dancing, and romance and
brings in Indians and then I got the thrill of my life when I hit Chapter 14
and the captain's interrogation of Lila,  Pirsig described something I've
known all my life but nobody had intellectualized before.  It was like a
burden lifted and I thought that this must be more than a writer - he's a
shaman, a foot in two worlds and able to interpret one to the other.  Sigh.
 I don't think there's anything sexier than a man who understands women.

What do you see as your problem with Lila?

I know what you mean!  It's like an ongoing story with characters developing
and fading... how will the story end?  You have to keep reading.


My purpose is personal development through a reality that

Thanks Mark.  Cheers to you too.  Sorry to hear about your southern
