Steve: If you want to assert that something is not only scientifically true
but also a spiritual truth, then it seems to me that the standards for
evidence must indeed be higher since the criteria for such a claim to truth
would need to include all the usual criteria for scientific truth plus
additional criteria to address the rules of the Old Masters you mention.
