But working for money has its efficiencies.  Suppose everytime you needed food, clothing, 

or medical help, you had to find a farmer, tailor or doctor who needed gardening. 
It is more efficient (and gives you more freedom) to be paid in money, 
then you can deal with whatever farmer, tailor or doctor  that you want to.
