Blasphemy? Is it "blaspheming against intellectual integrity" to say two plus two is five? No, blasphemy has nothing to do with it. It's just wrong or incorrect. Obviously, characterizing it this way suggests that Bo is speaking out about some truth that's dangerous to some oppressor, suggests he's some Promethean genius who's being persecuted by a narrow-minded authoritarian. This is ridiculous and insulting. 

Isn't is obvious that Horse's aim is simply to free up the space for a free and open discussion? Hasn't he repeatedly explained that it's not even about holding any particular position but rather simple honesty? The fact is, anyone who continues to assert Bo's equation as the right interpretation of Pirsig's work can only do so in the face of indisputable evidence that Pirsig never agreed with that equation. That is a classic case of intellectual dishonesty. I don't think it's exactly honest to characterize Bo's transgression as blasphemy either, come to think of it.
