John,
Interesting angle. When we take a closer look,
fear does tend to tighten the grip on that which
we feel is certain. Those defining patterns of self.
We are our values.
Since you tied objectivism with ego, rejecting
it is allowing in a certain respect the ego to "Die".
This is particulary frightening to those who have
invested alot of "themselves" in the defining
of their self.
And lets face it, RMP asks us to re-evaluate our
conception of self, what it means to "be".
If you are not prepared to accept that then
a value centered reality is not going to make
much sense.
It would hold little value for them.

Rationality can't be grasped by rational reasonings, only Quality ones.
What's missed by this little irrationality, is a good look in the mirror at
the monster within that doesn't want to relinquish control.
Objectivism = ego in control
I'm starting to understand better all the time.
Bo's clinging = fear of death.
I told him to take shrooms, but does he listen?
Stubborn north men in the dark gloomy thinkings, huddled close to the only
fire they know.
