And so Dave, as you were using the Mercator/Arctic phrase of RPM in one of your explanations
earlier on, stunning analysis btw, but i had no time then to inform you that Mercator was a Flemish cartographer .

So i checked out Mr Pirsigs explanation long ago, and its completely accurate, for a number of reasons.
Like for example , the magnetic pole is not at the North-pole, but at Baffin Island, Canada.
So a compass at the North-pole is useless because the needle points at , -of course.., Baffin Island, slightly south of the North-pole.
Mercator succeeded to project a sferical expression onto the carts.
RPM 's conlusion on Mercator is very sharp, i expected no less.

I'v been in the museum at St niklaas mentioned in the wiki-artikel, nice museum, superb stuff in it, its about 25 miles from here.

The reason as why i'm informing you about this , is obvious, as a becoming scientist,(not i), all details matter, as i can see in the efforts
you make in your postings.

Been also extensively reading on the Bradley/Pirsig/ Huxley issue, and as you know , Huxley was my first literary love ever.
I am not clear on Bradley, nor on the Pirsig Bradley interpretation. i am however clear on Huxley, i did all my re-reading and Perrennial
cannot be merged into the realityprojection of the moq-

I have my doubts on Bradley, due to the phrase from the annotations, do i have to read him? what is your opinion?

Greetzz, Adrie
