You have taken this statement out of context, but perhaps I should have said 
"metaphysically, reality is what does not exist."  And THAT is a fact.

To perceive does not always require sight.  How would we know nothingness if 
we did not perceive it in existence?

But I enjoyed the Looking Glass quote.
