I know you write this just to provoke, your reason doesn't manage it so 
now you resort to the lowest form to get some attention. Anyway if this 
is your take of the MOQ one sees how little you understand its scope 
which is that existence consist of the four static moral levels where the 
lower level becomes the evil of the upper; Inorganic existence is death 
to biology, biological existence is amorality to society and social 
existence is credulity to intellect (these are just my choice of words so 
don't get hung up in them).       

The above quote is about the big city - NY - and I can't see any 
reference to murder and rape, but I guess it's the preceding part about 
"The Giant devouring human bodies" you use, and Pirsig can be a bit 
provocative himself. Here he allegedly speaks about the social vs 
biological struggle but an American city is the least relevant example. 
USA is an intellect-steeped country that doesn't allow any social  
"devouring of bodies", if there are such  - Mafioso for instance that 
relentlessly kills its own members who don't deliver - it's regarded as 
"public enemies no.1 " and NY police tries to stp it.

An aside:
One may despair a little over Pirsig at times. He surely once was in 
NYC with his sailboat and - while walking the streets long before the 
MOQ was conceived - had this Giant idea and then simply could not 
resist using it in LILA even if it is damaging for the MOQ and gives 
asses like Ron a chance to mock it. The same goes for the "Hot 
Stove" example also obviously conceived long before the MOQ and 
does more harm than good.    

The real example of society devouring bodies is the fundamental 
muslim countries that kill women if "unfaithful" and cuts hands and 
limbs of thieves and many more such sentences delivered by "islamic 
courts of justice", this is society vs biology, their spending bodies is 
even more freely when it comes to defend society against intellect as 
in the present Al Qaeda's atrocities.

Your "rape" - and "ass rape" - obsession is no particular means of 
society devouring of bodies, rather a biological sex instinct that social 
value is all about preventing. In the said social-steeped culture rape is 
severely punished while our intellect-steeped ditto will look into the 
rapist's  past and find him a victim of his (subjective) upbringing or 
(objective) genes and let him get away with it.
