I guess I never thought of nihilism that way Steve, as another word for
violence or destructiveness.. I always thought of nihilism as "not
caring". Like the truism states: the opposite of love is not hatred, it's
indifference.
I think of nihilism more as indifferent, than destructive. Ennui to the
nth degree.
mebbe I just misundertand the term.
wiki is helpful, as is kierkegaard:
"It should be noted, however, that Kierkegaard's meaning of nihilism differs
from the modern definition in the sense that, for Kierkegaard, levelling led
to a life lacking meaning, purpose or
value,<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nihilism#cite_note-autogenerated1-12>whereas
the modern definition posits that there was never any meaning,
purpose or value to begin with."
Dunno, Steve. Either way, Nihilism sounds more like moronism than Islamism.
