The view that humans create reality could be embarassing.
There's an old comic routine about Columbus "discovering" the "New World":
COLUMBUS: I declare this land & all its inhabitants the property of king Ferdinand
& Queen Isabella of Spain!
NATIVE: How can you do this?
COLUMBUS: Well, I discovered you.
NATIVE: What you mean, you discover US?  We discover YOU on beach.
I wouldn't want to be the one that explains to the first extraterrestrial visitor
that we created them.  Probably get zapped by a raygun.
Humans create a description of reality (= metaphysics).
