Adrie to Andre re Wilders:
...an extremely dangerous man.

Andre:
Hi Adrie, sorry for the late reply: Wilders is a bit of a stirrer
justifying his claims on the basis of freedom of speech and reference to
very selective statistics which misses the point completely of course.
He refuses to go into any debates, refuses journalists to be present at
his 'movement's ( the PVV is not a political party...which is
interesting in itself...he is its only member)meetings and generally
uses, what I can only refer to as Fox retorts in answering
questions...usually one liners.

The idea that he won 22 seats at the last elections is a shamefull
reflection on the mood in some quarters of Dutch society but has also
been seen as a reaction to the Christian Democratic Party's ineptitude
at governing the place and making quality decisions.

Of interest now is that no other political party wants to form a
coalition with this movement but, trust the buggers, the liberal
conservatives (VVD) and the Christians (CDA) are willing to have (2nd
round) discussions with this man.(it suits their opportunistic,
conservative and hypocritical ideologies as far as I am concerned).

Positive thing is that this man has sharpened and refined the arguments
of his opponents, much like Khoo hinted at on this discuss in reference
to Bodvar's objective/conservative stance re the MOQ.

In this sense the political game can be seen as a wonderful example of
where and how the social-intellectual code of moral conflicts are being
played out.

It reminds many of the LPF of Pim Fortuin (in the polls at 25 seats
before he was assassinated) which only took 1 year to self-destruct.

Maybe it is just a storm in a tea cup...let's hope so...parts of every
culture need at least one scape-goat sometimes so it seems.

Thanks Adrie.
