Your essay is a "tour de force" in the art of writing, just some
philosophical (MOQ) comments and then one personal.
> Men are predators and women are prey animals.
I see your point, but from a MOQ point of view human existence isn't
all biological, but has been overlaid by the social value layer and this
determines our existence just as much.. You speak about biological
freedom and lack thereof, but much of the "bondage" you write about
is social, f.ex. about women having to be nice and sugary ..etc. And -
believe me - it's not only women who are subject to social mores. But
then there's intellect that tries to fool us into believing that all our
feelings (of being limited) is just subjective, we are really free ... except
for determined by genes (heritage) and/or society (environment).
> Gav talks about living a free, unencumbered life without a home. I
> can only dream about such freedom. No woman would ever do that. Men
> can get away with it, but we women would just end up as somebody's
> prostitute or rape victim if we tried.
I don't know if it particularly American or Australian trait (due to the
immense uninhabited landmass) but they seem obsessed with the
idea of civilization breaking down after some disaster and people left to
care for themselves in the wild. I'm no film knower, but I believe there
are a lot of Hollywood productions about catasrophies when the
alleged raw biological "dog eat dog" emerges. The latest is "The Road"
made from a book by McCormack, this I haven't seen or read, but I
have his "No country for old men" and McCormack reveals a mind
obsessed with a feeling of imminent diaster, not natural, but some
moral dissolution slowly creeping in on us. The book was a bit hard to
read by his strange "country dialect" but the film was just creepy.
