Platt said to Marsha:
.., I humbly offer a Pirsig accolade that is forever writ in Dan Glover's book, Lila's Child: "God knows the MOQ has never had two better friends than Bo and Platt, so this is no criticism of their otherwise brilliant thinking." Yes, Mr. Pirsig is not only a good man but also a good judge of "brilliant thinking."

dmb says:
Even THIS is a prime example of dishonest, selective reading. If you're going to take the praise from Pirsig, you also have to take the criticism. This "accolade" exists in a context. What about the next sentence? What about the fact that he's commenting on some thinking that he finds less that "brilliant". If memory serves, this is the quote where he goes on to say that your idea of the intellectual level undermines the MOQ. And all the best MOQers have been giving you evidence and explanations as to how and why that view undermines the MOQ over and over again for years. If you're willing to believe what he says about your brilliant thinking, you also have to be willing to believe what he says about your ideas when they are "otherwise", when they are not brilliant and when they are destructive.

Where's the honesty? Where's the humility? Where's the reasonableness? Where is the intellectual quality?
