Dear Bob,

Marsha, who has a good heart and is thoughtful to a fault, reminds me that
today is your birthday. I think if everyone here could agree on just one
thing; it would be on hoping that today is a Good day for you. I, for one,
have not said often enough how much your two books inspired and have shaped
my thinking over the past 40 years. Often I have arrived in different places
than you did, but in my travels through the high country of the mind you
have been a frequent companion. True, I have argued a lot with the you in my
head but it was you who framed the arguments and in ways that made them
worth having. 

I thank you for that.
