Andre,

There might be many static "betterments" in comparison of various factors
when weighing two different options.  And we often take the aggregate of
these static comparisons as indicators of which is the best of the two.  But
still, we are only guessing.  Often we guess with nebulous intuitive leaps
that can't really be pinned to any specific, known static pattern.  It's
future experience which reveals whether we made the good choice or not.
Sometimes, all the static weight in the world is on the wrong side.

Ascertaining latches is very akin to ascertaining improvement.  We fall into
attachment too easily.
