If your definition of "interpret" is simply "explain", then I suggest you use
the word "explain", as literate adults understand a distinction between
"explaining" something and "interpreting" it... otherwise there would not be
two words, would there?

And perhaps you should consider the entire part one from dictionary.com

to give or provide the meaning of; explain; explicate; elucidate: to interpret
the hidden meaning of a parable. 

I suppose if you need to interpret the "hidden meaning" of your own ideas, you
spend some time thinking about them more before stating them.

"Interpret" implies a certain impenetrability in format that has to be altered
or restated before "meaning" can be understood. When we "interpret" art, we
mean that we move to uncover some hidden meaning, something not apparent at the
surface or at first glance. When we "interpret" a foreign language, we do so
because the script hides the meaning from us and need it "interpreted" into one
we understand.
