Damasio's theory of self is considered in the book 
''The Two-tiered Illusion of Self' by Mari Albahari.  Great 
book!   But I've also read of him through books published  
from the Dalai Lama's MIND AND LIFE INSTITUTE.  

Joe has been mentioning emotions connected to 
Quality for a while now.
