[MD] God is cheese

Hi John,

I like this thread. Discussing how we shouldn't be discussing. It is
kind of like making documentaries about violence to show how making
movies about violence is wrong. Or like the titilating little
segments on Fox showing deranged people who watch shows about sex...

For me, God is a personal relationship with one's creator, and can be
as varied as there are people. This is why I do not support dogmatic
institutions that profess Truth. Such things can be used as road maps
if one is interested or needy. When I am traveling I often take a map
with me, however, I usually end up somewhere off the map since that is
where it becomes interesting.

I like the writings of Kierkegaard. I find him to be of high Arete in
his presentations. I find it difficult to read his musings as Truth
per se. But he is noteworthy in stating that in the end it is not our
relationships with others that matter, but our relationships with
ourselves. Standing alone in front of God is such a relationship.

I do believe that much can be gained from listening to perspectives of
these kinds of things. However, it certainly does muddy the waters of
a more simple discussion about Quality in its metaphysical apparition.

Cheers,
Mark
