Dan and all,

I believe in both assholes and angels.  Why?  Because of experience.   I'm
an asshole and I'm married to an angel.

Maybe it's an exaggeration, but Lu's dad just passed along the video of my
eldest daughter Emily's birth and I watched it tonight.  There's a part
where I teared up a bit.  It's where the midwife slips a pair of sissors
down alongside the crowning head of my daughter, and makes a little snip in
that most tender and delicate of places.  Shivers...  And to think that Lu
went on and had four more kids after that experience.  If birthing were up
to men, I think the human race would have died out a long time ago.
