I considered my response to this and thought I'd take dan's advice and
really think for a while rather than dive in and go with my usual
off-the-cuff, slap-dash manner.  But upon further reflection, there really
is no point is there?  There is no possible way I could conceivably convince
you against your will and we've been round and round enough now that I
already know how it's going to end up.

I think you're right dave.   I don't agree with your closed-mindedness, but
I understand clearly that I'm not going to change it, so why bother?

Arguing with an Intellectual academic can go one of two ways, either my
opinion coincides with yours, in which case I'm dismissed because I'm
boring, or my opinion diverges from yours and I'm dismissed because I'm
wrong.  The classic lose/lose scenario.  Congrats.  You win.  These are the
last words of mine you will ever be unwillingly subjected to.
