Interesting Mary, I blogged a comment recently about Obama's "heal or
wound" line.

Personally, I don't believe sensible progress can be made on partisan
political debates, in an open environment like an email forum, unless
the participants follow the rule - of being seen to respect and build
constructively on the other position - and the rule is actively
enforced. Destructive anger gets us nowhere.
I think I posted my sample "respect, respect, respect" rules the other day ?
