technique. It is grounded in the science of influence. And whether you

I'd have to say: no. Buttering people up isn't what the science of
influence is all about. People see right through that crap. It is like
the guy who never brings his wife flowers and suddenly sends her a
bouquet of roses. All it does is raise her suspicions that he's guilty
of something.

Well, laughter makes life more worthwhile, that's for sure. And don't
get me wrong... I am not talking about peace, love, and understanding
(it doesn't cost anything to be nice, though). Let me ask you: do you
think Bodvar and Platt were laughing when they read what RMP wrote? Is
it a knee-slapper for you when RMP sends a little praise your way?
