John and Marsha --

Yes, I agree that Hirsi is truly heroic. She is a voice of reason between
two worlds whose differences she fearlessly addresses. She also has a great
deal of charm, which comes through in interviews I've screened on the net.
Hirsi's mission to date seems to be promoting social reform in a theocratic
culture which has never benefited from a religious reformation. Although
its main focus is the re-education of Muslim women who have emigrated to
Western nations, I believe Hirsi's first-hand knowledge of the cultural
traditions and political history of three continents would make her a strong
candidate for a consulting role in Washington.

This gives me a chance to correct a typo in the link I gave Marsha. The
correct link for the videos of her speech and question session in Wisconsin
last November is http://europenews.dk/en/node/29832.
You both might also be interested in a more intimate interview with Paula
Dobriansky, former Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global
Affairs, taped following release of Hirsi's latest book, 'Nomad'. This link
is http://www.booktv.org/Watch/11675/After+Words+Ayaan+Hirsi. (I think I
got that one right.)

Thanks for your interest,
Ham
