Is this relationship reflective of the control of the House of Habsburg and
the Holy Roman Empire? Velazquez is another of my favorite painters. In
2000 I made a pilgrimage to the Prado to see his paintings, although
my favorite painting is 'Juan de Pareja' at the Frick Museum in NYC.
When my father-in-law left Spain he took his father's name Rodriguez, rather
than his mother's name. From what I was told the name Rodriguez is as
common as the name Rogers.
