Certainly speaking out courageously against Jihadism and the Islamic
persecution of women provoked the threats on Hirsi's life. This was her
right as a Dutch citizen, even if her statements were unpopular with people
like yourself. Personally, I think U.S. laxity in controlling immigration
over the last two generations has weakened our national security. I'm
hoping the influence of Hirsi and other naturalized citizens will lead to
strengthening our policy and restricting immigration to those capable of
assimilating into our society and willing to live by our laws.

I don't know what has fueled your hatred, Adrie, but I got my information
from Hirsi's book and a biography published on the Globalist website. There
is nothing "controversial" about female abuse in Muslim countries; it is a
well-known scourge against humanity. Nor am I aware of any connection with
Nazism in Ms. Ali's life story. She herself has deplored the Holocaust in
public speeches and TV interviews. The American Enterprise Institute is not
"anti-Islamic" but a well respected nonpartisan, non-profit organization
dedicated to research and education on issues of government, politics,
economics, and social welfare, all of which are concerns of Hirsi Ali.

Theodoor "Theo" van Gogh was a Dutch film director, author and actor, and
the great-grandson of the painter Vincent van Gogh's brother. Theo worked
with Ali to produce the film 'Submission' which she scripted and narrrated.
He was assassinated on Nov. 2, 2004 by Mohammed Bouyeri, a Dutch-Moroccan
Muslim. I know very little of Geert Wilders, except that he was an
independent member of the Dutch parliament who advocated a five-year halt to
non-Western immigration following the murder. (Does that make him a Nazi?)
According to Wikipedia, Wilders and Hirsi went into hiding for several weeks
before she relocated to the U.S., and Wilders is still under the protection
of bodyguards in Holland. Due to the extenuating circumstances, the Dutch
government announced in 2006 that Hirsi Ali would retain her Dutch
citizenship.

When I see people labeled "pigs" and "Nazis" for no apparent reason, my
suspicion is that it is motivated by personal prejudice rather than facts.
