Even with the separation, the longing remains.  Heck, even with the union,
the longing remains.  It's the longing that is the constant.

 But we were discussing ZAMM and Lila, right?  Here's the difference then.
In ZAMM the longing is unspoken, in Lila, it's fulfilled.  In Lila, the
intellectual chemistry nerd discovers the steps of the dance.  That's the
metaphysical triumph of my understanding.

Of course, all this is only an analogy...
