Arlo said to dmb:

So if Quality = Movement towards Betterness, then Negative Quality would = Movement towards Worseness, a concept which would have no experiential reality, according to a MOQ.

dmb says:
Okay, I think that's the crux of it. Maybe a good analogy here would be positive and negative magnetic charges. In that case the positive charge attracts and the negative charge repels. That is the pull and push of Quality. BUT, instead of your formulation of it, we say that negative Quality repels and positive Quality attracts. Moving off the stove or away from the acid is to be pushed away from the low value situation. Or we can move toward some positively charged attractor, like getting out of bed in the morning or moving forward by following the Quality in some engaging task. Either way the direction is toward a better situation. That's how we can say that Quality is excellence and the good while also recognizing that evils like misery, injury, death, confusion, lies and bullshit are part of life too. We can't just say, "Hey, it's all good" because conflicting value forces at always at play, like the suffering and stuckness that (hopefully) leads to growth and expansion.
