Hi John,

I love your posts.  I've exchanged my iPhone for a go-phone and a new iPad.  I love my new iPad.  I just thought I'd mention MacJournal.  After a few months of using it I'd label it a great tool.  They now have an iPhone or iPad app version of MacJournal that can be used stand alone, or to sync with a Mac.  You might want to check it out.
