Do you really think I forgot to answer that one Marsha? Quite frankly, I interpreted that question as an insult to Pirsig.

Going through your posts I get nothing else but evasion and when you express an interest you ask questions...you never give your own ideas first and then ask if this coincides with what is presented. You just retreat into giving quotes that point to illusion, nihilism...quoting some Buddhist text to substantiate your nihilistic conviction by suggesting that all is illusion because it lacks an inherent ontological basis.


This is not a very good way to start, nor proceed, nor continue a fruitful, constructive discussion.

It also shows you do not understand Buddhism, especially the Zen branch.

It is like inviting you to a great party where everyone is having fun and having a good time and acting silly, listening to great music and then you come along and say that we are all going to die and that all the fun is just an illusion because death is our ultimate end, and therefore and thereby dismissing the fun, the party, the silliness we express. In other words, you dismiss the entire theater of life BECAUSE we are all going to die anyway...implying...don't bother.

I want to suggest to you that questioning the MOQ as to where science belongs: the social level or the intellectual level is a very silly move indeed and does indicate that you, once again, have not read LILA (except chapter 14). From your point of view, whatever up-the-daisy sphere that is, you cannot see or participate meaningfully in anything we are on about 'down here'.

That you question Pirsig's argumentation and reasoning on this (being his own MOQ) is indicative of your game playing and your complete lack of any intellectual integrity whatsoever.
