As long as there are preferences, there are desires. As long as there
are desires, Dynamic Quality cannot emerge.

Ron:
One must add that what allows DQ to "emerge" in our lives lies in
the kinds of preferences we make. One prefers to elimenate desires
because one prefers betterness.
 
Metaphysically, preference is being.
