What James argues still means nothing to me. I still neither accept free-will & determinism, nor reject free-will & determinism. They are conventions, static patterns and analogy. There's no autonomous entity with a will, only conventions, static patterns and analogy. I put them in the same category as God. The interesting question is how do you lessen the attachment to static quality to become more free.
