The following is a drawing of yet another constellation. It is said
that art precedes knowledge since it is closer to the fundamental
source, DQ. This could be considered as a quality statement since
much of art results not from knowledge, but from an intimate awareness
of a guiding path (“following DQ”). Subsequent to this awareness
arises the formal presentation of words and concepts as placeholders.
Once established, the individual is then able to move forward by
resourcing the underlying dynamic nature of existence, and stepping
off such placeholder steps onto the next as it is created. This would
be analogous to stepping stones appearing in a pond, before one, as
one crosses the pond. These are self created stepping stones and are
in essence projection resulting from incoming experience.

With this in mind, once such placeholder can be presented in the form
of a triangulation. Just as a platform requires three legs in order
to stand, a conceptual platform is stable with three underlying
principles (as is commonly used in many forms of metaphysics). Often
such platform is based on two "static concepts" and their interaction.
One example would be the Taoist presentation of the Yin, the Yang,
and Chi. The Yin and Yang alone cannot provide a platform on their
own since they would just sit idly by. Therefore a metaphysical
completion of the analogy requires their interaction. Chi (Qi) is
often translated as “life force”, but it extends beyond the biological
form of life and is more of an “essential force” which describes the
dynamic interaction of the Yin and the Yang.

In the past I have suggested an addition in Quality display using
three principles in MoQ. These would be SQ, DQ, and some manner of
presenting the interaction (or inter-conversion) of the two. At one
point I suggested the term Interactive Quality (IQ), but this was also
done “tongue-in-cheek” to reveal the intellectual nature of such an
illumination. In this post, I present a triad in which the
“substance” nature of the legs (concepts) is slightly different.

Existence within reality is metaphysically cut (with the “knife”) into
“Identity”, “Movement”, and “Communication”. These three parameters
are then used to provide explanatory power to Quality. Leaving the
DQ/sq split aside for the time being, we divide metaphysical reality
into these three supporting legs, and then circle back. (a) We have
Identity, which is most easily understood as “personal identity”.
This would be that which makes each one of us different from others.
>From this perspective we can then ascribe Identity to all the things
we choose to name or compose. (b) We have Movement, which is
presented as change, kinetic forces, or even “time”. Without
Movement, existence would be completely static and therefore
“non-existent”. (c) Finally, we need an interactive component, which
I have termed Communication. This word is used to enable
understanding within the conceptual framework of our current climate
of rapid dialogue within the “Noosphere”, which is enabled by the
Internet. However, such Communication is as simple as a ball bouncing
off a wall, or the adsorption of the energy of a photon by a plant.
Words and concepts, as the dreams of this post are composed of, is
also Communication. Communication is the transfer of identity from
one “thing” to another.

Back to MoQ then: Static Quality can be analogized to the tool with
which communication is made possible; Static Quality also provides a
temporary placeholder for identity as it changes through time.
Dynamic Quality is composed of movement through which communication
between identities can be accomplished. Movement acts on Static
Quality to create existence through identity awareness. Communication
is the means by which sq and DQ coexist. These three building blocks
are most easily interpreted as independent. Although it can be said
that communication is created by the individual, it also exists
independent of the individual so that it can be used to transfer
identity. While an individual “moves”, such movement is most easily
understood as a substance distinct from the individual.

In conclusion, as we attempt to provide placeholders, or stepping
stones, which allow others to follow, (such that they can see the
vista which is presented outside such stepping stones), we can diagram
some useful concepts. With suitable concepts the traveler can create
their own stepping stones as they step forward through the landscape
of awareness. The presentation just given is not meant to be
dogmatic, but simply an illustration of the usefulness of tools in the
coloring of awareness. It is simply a presentation of “stars” which
can then be conceived in a variety of constellations for the purposes
of engendering meaning.

Regards,
Mark
