Marsha said to David & dmb:

... I have nothing to say about 'truth'; I prefer to use RMP's term 'pattern' rather than 'truth', and I prefer think of patterns as 'hypothetical'.

dmb says:
It makes no sense to prefer Pirsig's "pattern" rather than "truth" because Pirsig's "truth" is a "pattern". Here is the textual evidence for this equation: "'Truth is a species of good.' That was right on. That was exactly what is meant by the Metaphysics of Quality. Truth is a static intellectual pattern within a larger entity called Quality." LILA 364

Let me repeat that for you, in case you missed it. "Truth is a static intellectual pattern within a larger entity called Quality."

Or, even more simply, "Truth is a static intellectual pattern".

Given Pirsig's definition of truth, your sentence becomes, "I prefer to use RMP's term rather than RMP's term." You're rejecting Pirsig terms because Pirsig's terms are better than Pirsig's terms. It's just ridiculous nonsense.
