Matt,

here's a graphical representation of how recursive patterns looks, when 
the existence pattern emerges from the intellect (like you suggested), 
and when the inorganic pattern emerges from the practical pattern.

-If two areas share a border, they are isomorphic.
-If they share an arrow-like border with an angle, the pattern in the 
direction of the arrow emerges from the other pattern.

So basically this theory has only two types of relationships between 
entities: isomorphy and emergence.

00 Existence
01 Increment
10 Interaction
11 Control

+00 Romantic inorganic (isomorphic with this computer screen you are 
looking at)
+01 Romantic biological (isomorphic with you)
+10 Romantic social (isomorphic with your act of reading this)
+11 Romantic intellectual (isomorphic with the the diagram itself as an 
intellectual construct)

D+00 Inorganic
D+01 Biological
D+10 Social
D+11 Intellectual

D-00 Mental
D-01 Communicative
D-10 Personality
D-11 Practical
