Yes, I am familiar with the quote you present.  Again, I will direct you to the example of gravity which is encompassed within the concept of the ghost of reason.

Your quote cannot be established as a truth.  It is rhetoric used to bring about an awareness.  As such, the quote is an idea, by which to view your existence.  This is very important in terms of understanding what Pirsig is presenting.  The idea comes before DQ.  We create these ideas in order to bring about meaning.  They are structures by which to establish reason.

I believe it is important to look beyond dogma and focus more on the intention of quotes such as you provide.  I believe my presentation is consistent with Pirsig's at a fundamental level.

I hope this clarifies what I mean, but I am happy to discuss this further so that I can understand where you are coming from.  I am always learning.
