It depends on the dynamics.  If it is possible to disperse far enough & fast enough, "flight" is the best option.
If not, "fight" is the best option (either individually or jointly).  But this is independent of the biological/social
distinction.  If the decision is made without reasoning, it is biological; if it is made by ritual, it is social;
if it is made with reasoning, it is intellectual.
