Hi Horse,
Thank you for your explanation. I agree that any static
representation of DQ is just that. This is true for the static
representation of everything, and DQ is not special in this way.
Certainly we can make sense of our experience using DQ, for that is
what MoQ is all about. Nothing can be captured with words, they are
just representations, as you know for this is how sq is defined. Even
SQ cannot be captured by "sq", for obvious reasons. It is impossible
to make DQ something that it is not, we all agree on this. If we
leave DQ out of the exchange of ideas, we must not speak of DQ at all
which would be to leave it out of MoQ.
I am speaking towards the mechanics of our discussions, not trying to
encapsulate DQ in any way. Both of us have used the term "DQ" in this
exchange. I feel it is important to do so, or MoQ will not progress
in understanding. The treatment of DQ as not definable is exactly the
same way God is treated by gnostic understanding. The problem with
religion, is that the "God sq" took over. We do not want to have the
same thing happen to DQ. This is what Pirsig means by bringing in the
term "degenerate", in my opinion. In true religion they say that "one
should not worship false idols", which would be words in our case.
This is why Allah or God should never be represented, because it
objectifies something which is a personal relationship. We each have
a personal relationship with DQ, and it is not that which we present
through words.
I welcome any presentation of where I may be mistaken in the spirit of MoQ.
