In some ways, what David is presenting can be called "the paradox of intellectualization". It would be the use of the intellect to define the intellect. This would be my way of presenting the caution you put forth.
It may be a self-generated trap which David is setting by confining the Whole with the intellect. Once this paradox is understood (intellectually of course) it is possible to deny it in the same way that Xeno's paradoxes are dismissed on intuitive grounds.
Any logic which claims to include why logic exists becomes a "meta-logic". Logic can never claim to describe itself, for this too results in a paradox. Any intellectual presentation of the intellectual becomes an "egg giving birth to itself". It denies anything which may exist outside of the intellect.
To present static quality as a manifestation of static quality is one such immaculate conception. "Good value distinction" results in an intellectual idea such as MoQ. In this way we place Quality at the beginning. This is not solipsism since solipsism also results from "good value distinction".
All just an opinion.
Cheers,
Mark
