DMB, all,
I'd like to explain this a bit
dfgdkkkkkkkkk =) =)) =)))) =)))))))) *-. *-_ *--___ * -- ________00000
It begins with a very uncreative bunch of characters, then advances into
a smiley whose number of mouths increases in a manner that seems roughly
logarithmic, and then it escalates into a fractal face whose mouth's
length also increases logaritmically.
What I'm saying is that you can't put all of "meaning" into a box. If
you did that, there would be no Dynamic Quality.
Mary on LS has compiled a bunch of citations from DMB:
***BEGIN PASTE***
Dmb says:
3/24
.it's so stupid that it's funny.
3/22
.the inability to distinguish philosophical ideas from psychotic drivel.
Editorial note: Can someone please explain the meaning of "psychotic"
to dmb? It is used incorrectly repeatedly.
3/21 (a record-setting day)
.It's selfish, small-minded and sleazy.
.I sincerely wish there was competent disagreement around here.
.Your sentences contradict the english language.
.To be respected there is a shameful thing.
.And this is just more proof that you need to get a different hobby.
You're bad at it and you cheat too.
.If you can't express thoughts and ideas coherently to other people, you
have no business hanging out in a philosophy group. I don't even think
that's a debatable point. If that makes me look like a snob, I'll just
have to live with that.
.How do you explain or justify this behavior to yourself? You really
can't see how there might be something wrong here? Seriously?
.She identifies with a character who sees the value of nothing except
booze, sex and chocolate. Philosophy isn't for everybody, you know? If
"she doesn't see intellectual quality at all" and it's so far "outside
her range" that "she doesn't even see social quality", then obviously
she has no business in a place like this. It's like trying to play chess
with a chimp.
3/20
.What's required in a place like this is comprehension. Without the
capacity to read and think and write it isn't even possible to agree or
disagree with Pirsig - or anyone else.
*** END PASTE ***
Just listen to yourself, DMB. You sound like the whiner who makes
everyone feel bad! You are constantly exagerrating the flaws of your
enemy, while failing to identify any fault in yourself. Even if this
were war, Sun Tzu knows wars are not won that way. You are not making
realistic assessments of your opponent. Your opponent is not psychotic,
can read, can think, and can write. They're just not doing it like
you're doing it. How do you react?
By whining? By throwing up this big screen, that says: "MALFUNCTION".
Speakers go on: "Alert! Alert! DMB is malfunctioning! Please speak right!"
That's not working.
