Arlo,

Tuukka:
Is this *recursion* an analogy of something I'm supposed to imagine or
"just perceive", or does it have static form?

Tuukka:
I'm also doing the latter. But the problem is, the analogy doesn't work
that well if the MOQ is decisively an intellectual pattern. All static
value patterns can incorporate the MOQ in their own way - even as the
pages of a book or the state of the brain. If you insist that the MOQ
must be located in patterns, then why should it only be located in one
pattern instead of all the patterns? In what way is it possible to
contemplate the MOQ without a biological organism doing the
contemplation in such a way, that the MOQ is stored in the brain of that
organism?

The MOQ may belong to patterns, but I find it simpler to say all
patterns can include an instance of the MOQ. In the context of a certain
discussion, we may specify we're speaking of "an inorganic MOQ (the
pages of a book)" or "an intellectual MOQ", but to state it as some
general truth, independent of context, that the MOQ is only an
intellectual pattern, seems redundant, or rather, like asking for
trouble. The assertion seems to give no valuable insight, and is easy or
even trivial to be subjected to cogent objection.

If Pirsig said the MOQ is an intellectual pattern, he was not wrong. But
there's no reason to argue the MOQ can't manifest within any static
value pattern.
