I don't think I said this. If anything, I've been arguing FOR people to present their derivative ideas as their own extensions/revisions/derivations/criticisms/etc of Pirsig's work. What I said, I think, was that we were arguing past each other because I was talking about Pirsig's ideas and you were talking about your SOQ. This is (for point of example) one reason why I find "the MOQ" a problematic term in the dialogues; some use it to mean "Pirsig's ideas" and others use it to mean a broad range of derivative ideas that share some basic foundation with Pirsig.

Which is absurd. Did Peirce's, or Nietzsche's, or Plato's ideas "die within a generation" because people attributed their philosophies to these authors? Of course, over time, multiple authors with similar views create larger 'schools' (e.g. "pragmatism", "idealism", "post-modernism", etc.), and so if we use history as any guide, then Pirsig's ideas may spawn a 'school' of near-compatible authors (such as your SOQ, perhaps), and there is no reason to think this is problematic. 

But notice here how the two sentences above use "the MOQ" exactly differently. In the first, "...that the SOQ is based on the MOQ" you seem to use "MOQ = Pirsig's ideas", while in the second, "If the MOQ is, and always will be, only something Pirsig wrote..." you seem to use the "MOQ = school of thought derived from Pirsig's initial ideas". 

Notice if I substitute "Pirsig's ideas" into the first it does not alter your meaning, "Arlo even questioned the idea that the SOQ is based on Pirsig's ideas". 

But if I make the same substitution in the second, "If Pirsig's ideas are, and always will be, only something Pirsig wrote...", it becomes very bizarre.

I'm not sure which is your primary complaint, that no one wants to talk about your SOQ, or that no one who has talked to you about your SOQ understands what you're saying. And regarding both, you seem to suggest the 'problem' lies with everyone else.
