Marsha to Andre:
You're being nasty again and unforgivably out of tune, so until you
learn to sing your own sweet philosophical song I am putting you on junk
status.

Andre:
Marsha, your anti-intellectualism shines as bright as the sun on a clear
winter's day. Your unforgivable nihilism (based on all sq is unltimately
emptiness anyway) combined with what you claim shows your confusion
again and again.

Here's an excerpt from an intelligent man talking:
'It is not possible to take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha
intellectually. We cannot attain spiritual security or peace in this
way. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO THROW AWAY OUR INTELLECT, BUT PLEASE, LET
THE INTELLECTUAL SENSE JUST JOIN IN, AND PRACTICE WITH WHOLEHEARTEDNESS.
Then, spiritual security is present...In Katagiri's life, the
intellectual world is always coming up, but if I want to give you
Buddha's teaching beyond our cultural backgrounds, all I have to do is
be present right now, right here, with wholeheartedness and then talk.'
My emphasis. (Dainin Katagiri).

You seem to have this weird understanding of what Pirsig means by 'kill
all intellectual patterns', which you apparently use to defend your
anti-intellectual drivel. And your quote from Hagen is a nice example of
what Pirsig means by the difference between his MoQ and Buddha's
teaching AND, within the MoQ, pointing the way for both programs to
wonderfully complement and strengthen one another.

On the back of Hagan's book Pirsig makes the distinction and similarity
very clear. You just emphasise the one and kill the other in the process
of doing so. That is why you are still stuck in SOM. You fail to
integrate. To you the intellectual level is about reified objects of
knowledge. Both Pirsig and Gautama Buddha deny this, contradict this,
fight this tooth and nail.

And you fail to see or grasp this. Your projections on this discuss are
in that sense nothing but piles of junk.

Marsha:
'... so until you learn to sing your own sweet philosophical song I am
putting you on junk status.?

Andre:
I am not here to 'sing my own sweet philosophical song' Marsha. That is
yet another one of your misunderstandings and confusions. I am here to
learn and talk about Pirsig's MoQ and see it as inappropriate to bother
other members on this discuss with my own shadows. Too much of that
drivel is occurring here every day of the week anyway and it is very
gumption-sucking and de-motivating.

Go away Marsha, put yourself in the junkpile for awhile.
