Hi Joe,

Sometimes it is useful not to create objects out of SQ and DQ.  I find such
attribution to be a dead end if taken too seriously.  There are many who
are content to analyze the model which Pirsig presents in his book.  But
focusing the model only leads one away from Quality.  MoQ is simply a tool.
 Once one grasps Quality, MoQ, the levels, evolution, SQ, and DQ all
disappear and become something of the past.  It is like learning how to
play the piano.  Once one can play, the lessons are irrelevant in terms of
moving forward with such enjoyment.

When I provide descriptions of SQ and DQ, it is simply to bring the reader
into an alternate mode of interpretation.  Don't hang on to my analogies
since I have hundreds of them depending on what the situation demands.  We
have made SQ and DQ up for a reason.  Such reason was not to establish SQ
and DQ as endpoint understandings, for that would mean that one stops at
the door of awareness and never travels beyond that.  MoQ can open a door,
but once through it, the metaphysical presentation itself is no longer
important.  it becomes a way of life.

Quality has been presented in hundreds of ways over the ages, but Quality
never changes.  Let us not get too caught up in the representational model,
it is simply a tool which Pirsig uses.  Analyzing the model does not get
one anywhere.  Analyzing the purpose of the model does.
