You won't take it from me, so why don't you start exploring the links between 
emotion and intelligence that are currently being written about by a number of 
significant (non-religious but still sensible) philosophers. Try Martha 
Nussbaum's 'Upheavals of Thought' for how and why emotion is linked.

Oh, hang on, we've been here before.... that's when you pretended to have read 
the book, wasn't it?
