I'm sure you are right, historically.  But not many believers that I've
encountered are philosophers.  My view may be skewed having grown up in the
Seventh Day Adventist culture, which is where I get my idea that *most* theists

I may be wrong, but that is what I seem to remember.

Ok, I didn't mean that theism is irrational.  Heaven forbid!  I am one.
 Just most theists.

To be fair, I don't think most non-theists are rational either.

I have a fairly low opinion of the mass of humanity.
